Washington D.C., February 18, 2026 – Vietjet signs cooperation agreements worth USD 6.3 billion with U.S. partners
Vietjet has signed a series of strategic cooperation agreements with leading U.S. corporations and financial institutions, with a total value exceeding USD 6.3 billion.
The official signing ceremony took place in the presence of General Secretary Tô Lâm and senior leaders of both Vietnam and the United States, on the occasion of the General Secretary’s attendance at the opening session of the Gaza Peace Council in Washington D.C., at the invitation of U.S. President Donald Trump.
The event was held amid the continued strong development of the Vietnam–U.S. Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, particularly in the areas of economy, finance, and technology. On this occasion, the State Bank of Vietnam and the U.S. Department of the Treasury also announced a joint statement reaffirming their commitment to strengthening cooperation under the Vietnam–U.S. Macroeconomic and Financial Policy Dialogue.
Engine and maintenance agreement with Pratt & Whitney worth USD 5.4 billion
Vietjet and Pratt & Whitney, a subsidiary of RTX Corporation – one of the world’s leading U.S. aircraft engine manufacturers – signed an agreement to supply GTF engines along with comprehensive maintenance services for 44 A321neo and A321XLR aircraft, with a total value of approximately USD 5.4 billion.
Under the agreement, Pratt & Whitney will equip the aircraft with next-generation engines designed to optimize operational efficiency, reduce operating costs, and lower emissions, in line with Vietjet’s sustainable development and green transition strategy.

Boeing 737-8 aircraft financing agreement with U.S. partner
As part of the event, Vietjet also signed an aircraft financing agreement with international institution Griffin Global Asset Management, providing financing for six Boeing 737-8 aircraft, valued at approximately USD 965 million.
The agreement marks an important step in Vietjet’s strategy to diversify international funding sources, while strengthening its financial capacity and capital structure in accordance with global standards.
A milestone in Vietnam–U.S. economic and aviation cooperation
The total value of over USD 6.3 billion in agreements will contribute to increasing bilateral trade, enhancing cooperation in technology and finance, creating more jobs, and expanding the value chain between the two economies.
Mr. Nguyễn Thanh Sơn, Managing Director of Vietjet, stated:
